I think I'm finally getting the bug. I did another major clean up on Easter Sunday... raked, mowed, weeded, edged, blew.

Really nothing to report. Snapped a few photos.

... because they're my favorite.

Litte purple ground cover thingies (how's that for technical?)
I've learned these are moss phlox :) Thanks Lisa!

Hosta forrest

Now don't laugh. I'm very proud that I was able to get grass to grow. Sure, my lawn is green... but that's about as far as it goes. There are many bare patches, and I finally got grass to grow in most of them. Look at it! Sure, it's crinkled from the kids stomping on it.. but isn't it cute? and GREEN? :) I seeded again yesterday, I might win this fight yet.

The gardening gods must be looking out for me.

The last two seasons, I planted.. cared for.. nurtured my seeds.. my lil babies.

This year, not so much.

I planted them a few weeks ago, set them out on the sunporch and coverd them with plastic wrap. I never looked at them again. I never watered them or even aknowldged their existance. Imagine my suprise when I came home from class yesterday to find them well on their way!

Tomatoes, eggplant, the peppers are coming up slowly but I expected that. I immediately felt guilty and gave them a nice watering and suddently I'm partly motivated again!

Last Saturday the boys and I planted some sugar snap peas along the fence in the back of the bed where I'll plant the tomatoes this year. I'd like to get some more in the ground.. maybe behind the asparagus.

Speaking of asparagus.. there were some showing around this time last year.. so far only one teeny, tiny, skinny one. I hope I didn't lose them, I've been waiting two years for them!

In other gardening news, the front yard doesn't look to bad. The lambs ear is coming back nicely.. a few other things here and there. The daylilies I planted around the tree out front have come up as well. The rosemary survived as did the lavender...

Maybe over Easter break it will be nice and warm and I'll get the bug.
